The Origins of the Ashera Pole in the Ark of the Covenant
The pole could have been a piece of material media that helped facilitate access to the presence of the goddess. There's something very interesting about the idea of laying an Ashera pole next to these tablets that end up being an image of Adonai. One, one other thing that I find interesting is we've got another very early iconographic depiction of two ibexes feeding on either side of a tree. However, rather than that stylized date palm, that tree is the menorah. But that's not that's not, I haven't formalized that argument. So don't go spreading that around.
