Is There a Difference Between Probability and AI in Education?
The emergence of computers and Scantron as an earlier industrial age intervention in school kind of shifted education away from what we would call sort of harkness style, you know. The concern for me is as we start to center probability as the primary measure of well, the main way to make decisions. When it's AI, it first off creates the illusion that it's not a one size fits all thing, right, that it's derived this answer uniquely for the situation. But what it really is done is just applied probability to it. So now it's awful.
