Bob Greene: There's an interesting tension there actually between intellectuals, of course, those who have experiences which we might describe as mystical. Heidegger looked for a path, but that would have run up against his nationalism and commitment to the kind of romantic ideal of German power and identity and being. Now you also talk this topic at graduate school, contemplative existential psychology. You know, I'm not mistaken. We're talking about 25 years plus here, which is quite something.
