The Relationship Between Minimum Wage and Quality in Healthcare

Krista Rufini published a paper on minimum wage in the Review of Economics and Statistics. She looked at whether or not paying higher earnings to typically low-paid workers could affect the quality of their work. One theory is that if you pay people more, for example, by increasing the minimum wage, you might attract higher quality workers into the workforce. The second relates to incentives to invest in your own productivity as a worker.
