The Dictionary Wars

The case was submitted to the US Supreme Court on April 24th, 1893. The circuit court ruled in favor of the collector for the port of New York that he was correct tomatoes were vegetables. So John Nixon Company appealed that ruling. It was two witness statements and attorneys reading out of the dictionary. I love the idea of just reading dictionary things at each other with scourly faces.
