Chat GPT generates essentially a digital watermark, something which allows you to be able to analyze a piece of text and tell that it was actually produced by a system like chat GPT. The real big worry for me is that peer review, which is the process that we use to evaluate scientific contributions is already under strain. It's worrying, isn't it?
