The Sexiest Music of the 17th Century
A large part of the appeal of 17th century for music was, it was the sexiest music you'd ever heard. The simplest pattern we have for creating and then relieving desire in music is a five one progression that a cadence. You can prolong a dominant, and we all yearn for that resolution. I can make you beg for a pitch that you didn't care about a minute ago just by creating that build up, and then withholding the resolution. And you will beg for that resolution, right? Yeah, right. Right. It's a different system.
