The Race to the Mayor of Los Angeles

The New York mayor's race is often pointed to as the exception and a kind of kind of, but not, I think less than people think who don't live here. The fact that the mayor is African American gave him some level of inoculation against being against the racial dynamics of that issue. That was really the dynamic. Are the sort of the PC Manhattan liberals going to govern the city or are folks like Eric Adams, middle class, somewhat more conservative African Americans? It just doesn't play that way.
