The Importance of Understanding the History of Words
All words have their histories and we can all acknowledge that they were used differently a few hundred years ago than they do right now. I think in most cases it doesn't matter or like let's say when we're speaking normally to each other we don't need to go into the etymology of every word that we're using. You can't understand anything that's produced by evolution just by looking at its current incarnation so in the same way that we can't look at a given animal, he says.
