The Evolution of Mutual Aid

Kropotkin begins with prehistoric man listing archaeological finds from the neolithic era that suggests communal living and congregation. The tendency towards sociability is the dominant for striving a species success, he argues. Sociability leads to feelings of compassion which kropotkin calls solidarity among community members which forms the basis of mutual aid. Through communal living sociality is engendered and transforms into feelings of benevolence, sympathy and love they express themselves in the broader and more encompassing mutual aid instinct. It is these feelings and instincts we argue which give origin to human morality the sum total of moral feelings perceptions and concepts  which kropotkins turned the physics of human conduct as the fundamental rules
