Rakmaninoff's Large Hands
Rakmaninoff's hands were 'extremely bendy' and he suffered pains in his hands. He could sort of bend them almost, but like a contortionist. So I don't think any pianist actually would have exactly the same hands. We all have to adjust our natural affinities and abilities. And yes, for some chords, if you want to play them together and not one after another spread, is perhaps advantageous.
