The Life of Fred Phelps
Fred Phelps was an attorney and pastor in peka, Kansas. His most influential case came in 19 73 when he represented ten year old evelyn johnson in a legal battle against the tapeka board of education. He argued that officials at the local, state and federal level were still in violation of the ruling that had come two decades prior. The case received national attention, and the pressure led the tapeka school board to immediately implement new practices to fix these problems.
