Nigel West is the pen name of Ripper Allison, a former member of parliament in the United Kingdom between 1987 and 1997. The German intelligence service started in strange circumstances in 1932 as a clandestine organization because it was banned by the Treaty of Versailles. And we in the West had very little knowledge of the Abwehr or its structure or its personalities really until about 1941,. which is really strange. So the Germans knew a great deal about American intelligence, the FBI, British intelligence, but we knew absolutely nothing.
