If you have a patient who presents in front of you and they say, oh, i've got all the symptoms of malaria. You then send them off for tests to find out if they in fact, do have malaria. If te test comes back positive, then there is less chance that person actually has malaria. This is why we have this concept of false positive. And so this is a reasonable way of using bays's theory. Thits a perfectly reasonable way of reasonably adjusting our priors.
