The Expire Date of Aid and the Poverty Reduction Focus
In much of the book, jonathan takes issue with aid having an expire date. Why is it such a bad thing that the long term goal for aid is that it should stop at some int and i'm asking you this because in most of my interactions with policy makers, say, on the african continent,. In many of the countries that i study, that i visit in asia, the topic that almost every one seems to bring up is that of self-reliance. The discussion is more about how can we get donors to align their interests with ours. Also take issue with the fact that the focus of aid has been very much on poverty reduction.
