On Friday, the pound hit its lowest level since 1985 when Quasi Quartan was actually having a nice pint in the pub celebrating this big package of tax cuts. But that message that there could be more to come really seemed to spook things. On Monday, the Treasury and the Bank of England intervened, which again felt quite unprecedented.
