Tricep tendonitis is pretty common in jiu jitsu with everybody getting arm barred all the time. If you're lifting and you're benching a lot, it's going to exacerbate your likelihood of developing some form of tendonitis. A big thing is just overuse doing the same motions over and over and over & over again. And then finding an exercise that you can do pain free that allows you to get tons and tons and tons of blood into those inflamed tissues.
