Napoleon's Triumphant Triumph

After nearly two years in office, bonaparte was finally beginning to look the part. The privileged circle around napoleon increasingly came to resemble a royal court. Shortly after taking office, he cut off his famous long hair. Now he wore his hair med length, cut to resemble the styles on roman statues. Napoleon actually despatched agents around the country to track people down who had been attendants or members of the court of king louis the sixteenth. We can only imagine how frightened these people must have been when a man from the revolutionary government showed up at their doorstep.
