We're taught in school, we were certainly raised as evangelicals, to believe that that was how it went. Now we know right now, at least in the current data, that partisanship predicts religiosity much more than religiosity predicts partisanship. Because it's actually easier to leave your church tan party. This makes perfect sense, of course, about churches that go through a discernment process around women in leadership or lg b t c incollusion. If you look at who stays and who leaves, i think some people are persuaded by that discernment process. And this discernment process will have some impact on our actual views.
