Doctor Holmes's Hotel
After the discovery of alice and nelly's bodies, doctor holmes was charged with four counts of murder. In april of 18 96, convicted of murder, locked in prison and facing the death penalty, doctor Holmes confessed to having committed at least 27 murders. He is also assumed to have killed one other woman, whom he married in order to inherit her deed to a valuable piece of land in texas. The hotel sound rooms with the peep holes and the secret gas piping that led directly into them meant that he could gasp his victims and watch them slowly die while no one could hear their screams and cries for help.
