If you're leaving your job for a better position, would you be totally honest about that information? You have to consider whether you want a counter offr. Is this really purely about money? I don't think that's often the case. If it genuinely is, think through wat what if they come back an with that 20 cent raise,. but if they match the salary? Would you be willing to stay?

We all go through periods at work when we think, I am done with this job and ready to move on. But are you really ready to leave your team and your company? You owe it to your career and your future self to make that decision carefully.
