The Cost of Discipleship

Luke 14: 25-35 is a passage that always intrigues me. It's maybe one of the earliest examples of Jesus sort of laying out the cost of discipleship. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple, he says. If we're failing when we make disciples to equip them, to respond well to suffering, we're doing them a huge disservice.
