We have built all of these layers of technology which separates us not just from nature, but from a whole sort of understanding of our place in the world. I mean, like rooted human cultures, wild nature, natural beauty are being transformed into a kind of a consumer desert. And I think that's a tragedy, it's a cultural tragedy and it's an ecological tragedy too.
