The Equilibrium of the Tiv
The stateless equilibrium doesn't really allow for a prosperous kind of modern society either. In order to sort of stabilize this stateless equilibrium, that has all sorts of problems for the way the economy works and the way society works. And it's always a struggle in some sense that we were discussing before in our corridor. I feel like the United States has changed enormously since I first came here as a PhD student in the late 1980s. It's still see enormous dynamism in the economy. There's enormous increases in inequality but there's also tremendous creativity among rich people.
