The Importance of Hearing Screening for Deaf Children

Neuropsychologists can do a lot of good to recognize the importance of the environment, their stimulation and their access to the things in their environment. One of the things that we see that's really unfortunate is that not all deaf children have the opportunity to acquire an accessible language to them. Newborn hearing screening programs will miss some deaf children. We're very aware that you can have perfectly intact hearing but have a whole host of conditions that impact your ability to understand language.
