"In the real with the baton" is an overview of this Lacanian imaginary symbolic and real. I think to sort of give ourselves this foundation, which, you know, I put it in here in brackets for you. And unfortunately, I imagine for you, this is sort of like, Khan 101. But as the title of the book says, "I'm a caveman who wants to get ahead." So we figure if we put taboos on parts, key parts of our animality and we control our impulses a little bit more, we've got more steady state consciousness.
