The Complexity of Octopus Evolution
There's another number for that which is 500 million years ago because that's the minimum amount of time ago when we diverged from octopuses evolutionarily octopuses in humans yes. They also partly think they found this number by finding a similarity between human serotonin receptors and octopus serotonin receptors. One study that helped find this was scientists taking two octopuses and dosing them with MDMA which is a drug nicknamed ecstasy by the cool kids. Can you imagine an octopus that arrived just in 10 niggles going everywhere flopping around? We kind of don't have to imagine that this would happen yeah.
