The Supreme Court justices in Israel are appointed by a committee that is supposed to be somewhat of like a bipartisan professional committee. This is historically how the justices have been elected to the Supreme Court. The far right, especially the settler right of Netanyahu's governing coalition wants to undo this and want to actually allow themselves to appoint justices and judges.
