The Strengths and Weaknesses of Machine Learning Approaches
You were very careful not to draw conclusions like this feature is important and it's causing certain types of outcomes. You don't want to be making inferences when really all you're doing is identifying correlations. The only way to do that is either by doing some much more sophisticated causal inference or by understanding the underlying scientific justification for these factors. But I'll give you one example and then maybe try to generalize from that example. One of the key features that we discovered for predicting clinical trial success is the speed of a cruel of a clinical trial.
