Prostate Cancer Screening

USPSTF recommends screening for men aged 55 to 70 who are of average risk. PSA or prostate-specific antigen is a substance naturally secreted by the prostate. It liquefies semen after ejaculation into less viscous fluid, which facilitates fertilization. In other states like infection or after instrumentation of the prostate, it may be also elevated transiently.
