How to Find Your Audience

Step two to finding your audience is forgetting about them completely, at least for a period of time. The project and the moment that my creative path really turned around for the better was when I started this daily drawing project where I did a new character every weekday for a year. That project ended up becoming not anything on its own financially. It didn't amass some huge audience. We did a Kickstarter at the end of screen print, all of those characters, we barely got funded. And yeah, it wasn't some huge win in terms of audience but it was the seed to everything that came after that.
