The House of Representatives' Power to Expel a Member of the House
The House has the power to expel one of its members, so long as two-thirds of the House votes for it. The Constitution doesn't limit their power to specific instances of wrongdoing. Only five members of the House have ever been expelled; three were disloyal during the Civil War.
