The Akimene Persians were not as strong as they may have once been. Alexander the Third of Macedon would recognise an opportunity to capitalise on this. Many cities were founded or renamed in Alexander's honour. Chandragupta Moria established his own powerful empire within the Indian subcontinent. Salucus Nykata would take control of the lands of Mesopotamia and the vast expanse of territory eastwards up to the extent of the Moria Empire. And Rhodes would enjoy a period of prosperity that has enabled them to build a huge statue by the entrance to its harbor known as the Colossus of Rhodes.
