Critical Perspective Podcast: Non-Invasive Respiratory Support in Critically Ill Adults
Breathe Easy
ICU Intubation
One group in Italy is proposing to put a small catheter in the nose so not an esophagol. They are suggesting that these could be a good way to estimate patients' work of breeding. People have tried to develop different indexes to predict the risk of intubation like the ROCs index using the SPO2F2 ratio and the respiratory rate for the high flow or the HACOR index for the non-invasive ventilation. I think we need research on the interface and of course that does not depend only on the clinician but testing, having different interfaces is really important in the ICU.
