A lot of early movies from the silent era and the 30s and 40s are often focused on women. Is that purely because of the time they were made? Or is there other more reasons to that as to why these films are often so focused on women, particularly? I think it's just a gendering of the domestic space,. Whereas women are linked to a kind of private domestic space. But the horror of home invasion, when it does center around this sort of feminised domesticity, is that that undermines men Because the threat, you know, the women have to keep the home nice.
