He had grown his kingdom into an empire that was all but unmatched in the region. The fortunes of assyria would soon change for good with the reign of a king named adadnirari. And it's worth mentioning that his reign is perhaps the first event in the entirety of near eastern history that can be dated to an exact year with a hundred % confidence.
