From the very beginning of the book of matthew, were seeing language that points toward jesus being the new and greater abraham. The boundaries of the new family of faith are not going to be ethnic, as is hinted at in the passage we just looked at with jesus family members. But it's more heavily demon rated just a couple of chapters later, in, say, the conversation jesus has with the canaanite lady who has the debate about healing her daughter.
