I am going to make a case that Catholics not only can, but at least in the circumstances in which we live, should be classical liberals. Not ideologues, but lovers of liberal political order for the genuinely good things that can do. John Locke has pride of place is probably the single most successful spokesman and evangelist for the liberal teaching. Don't ask questions while I'm going unless it's like you didn't hear something, right? And say something clearly in them, then we'll have a discussion at the end.
