I think to night was much more of an capcillation of the material that might have been covered in the last seven hearings. You know, we learned small details like where the president was sitting, what he was watching. We've learned of a simultaneous effort by the president and some of his supporters to pressure state legislators into overturning their election results. And one thing that has become abundantly clear from these hearings is the extent to which only a few good men and good women stood in the way of an even more severe con crisis than we experienced.
Last night, the
committee investigating the events of January 6th 2021 said that Donald Trump’s failure to stop his supporters’ attack was a “dereliction of duty”. The evidence was strong; whether it will change anything remains unclear. We examine the thinking behind the European Central Bank’s surprise
half-point rise in interest rates. And the money motivations of Bangladesh’s
loosening booze laws.
