There has been a kind of oppression at many universities in North America, and some in Europe as well. But the message of hope is that there's a large number of academics who perhaps have not had the courage to stand up and defend people with whom they may actually disagree. And if we all got together and did just that, we could turn things around. Well, we got to try. It won't happen if we don't try.
