Miltiades the Younger's elevation was consistent with Pisistratus' policy. Klysthenes tried to make his Archon ship something more than titular, a transgression for which he and the Alkmyonidai were once again banished from Athens. The tyranny remained both subliminal and popular until 514 BC when a personal grudge set in motion what would become the fall of the tyranny. Hipparchus had taken a liking to a young man named Harmodius, who was reputed to be the most handsome guy in all of Athens.
