Conservative Party Conference - The Worst Conference Ever
This year's Conservative Party conference should have been a triumphant moment for Liz Trust to celebrate her victory in this summer's Tory leadership contest. But instead it became yet another damaged limitation exercise for the Prime Minister as her party descended into yet another round of factional warfare. It turned into a showcase of Tory disunity, chaos, confusion and the mood was really bad. By the last night of conference we're all a bit exhausted aren't we? We've gone past midnight and we're staring into our warm glass of white wine talking to various members of the cabinet but the mood was pretty bad. I spoke to our Minister on the last night who basically said it feels like we've already lost.
