The Role of Ferritin in Fibromyalgia
Iron deficiency can affect pain threshold downstream by affecting levels of dopamine. intravenous iron is necessary for adequate arithropoiesis, especially if you're giving an ESA like a rythropoate or an aranasp to a patient with either chronic kidney disease or myelodisplasia. The hebsiden goes out and hebsiden blocks absorption. It also blocks release from macrophages - both are extremely heavily expressed with ferroporten.
