A B Doesn't Always Equal B A
Mathematically, b a is not the same as a b. We describe observables with matrices. The commutator is basically a measure how uncommutable they are. In quantum world, when you want to measure the position of something, it alters the state of the thing youare measuring. Which means that, if you measure the position first, you have no idea about the momentum.
