CHAPTER

The American Revolution and Justice in the Declaration and Constitution

In the framework of this country having many moments of founding and also founding documents that we are still working to live up to. There's a really strong sense of what rights should be protected, and what it means not to have basic rights protected. Why do we invest public authorities with power? You know, mainly so they can secure our rights. So when the power is turned round and not used to secure our rights, then the social contract itself, the original compact, has been breached. i think everything we're watching is fully recognizable and understandable in the original terms of the revolution and the declaration and constitution.
