Do You Ever Lead in With a Question?
A lot of people open their talks with questions or platitudes, and that doesn't sound like a positive thing. I think it's the story teller or the speaker with an enormous amount of knowledge that the audience doesn't already have. If you get to the ndo the story, before you reference that question again or that platitude again, ask your audience, how many of you actually remember the question that i opened my talk with? You know, if we put images in the minds of our audience, that's what people remember the whole time.
