Are You a Recidivist?
I think that what you do is take the bird's eye view of what this actually means economically and on a broader level. Much easier to write about this when crime rates have been going down for almost a generation than when they are going up. I mean, just to put my own personal cards on the table, I have three daughters and I want them to be safe in addition to everything else that happens in society. So I recognize at the same time that there are millions and millions and millions of people who are not recidivists. And I think our civil society would function better if we had the information I'm describing.
