The Fed's Lateness in Recognizing Inflation
Nier: The housing data is terrible that the Fed is getting from the BOS. It's based on a long distributed lag of past changes. We at Wisdom Tree and Jeremy Schwartz have been constructing an index based on case show or apartment list, rental prices which shows a very different pattern. Nier: I think in fact, had they been using current data, they wouldn't have made the mistake of waiting so long because inflation actually hit 12 or 13% in 2021.
