Steve Wozniacki: The idea of cradle optimality is that you can't make any moves. He says the only cradle-optimal move allowed is when you can make someone better off without making someone worse off. Josh Lomax: As long as you keep the individual isolated from everybody else, then none of this nonsense matters in economic theory. And so at the end, rationing has become taboo in economics, but so has human rights, he says.
