The Rise and Fall of the Hacking Scene

In the 80s and 90s, if we wanted to access high level, high performance computing platforms, we kind of had to do it on the slide without permission. Today, for the cost of a good meal, you can get a high performance computing platform that is more powerful than anything we ever had access to back then. So the landscape is definitely changed in that regard. But I like to think that the culture that was fostered during that timeframe, the sharing, the leave no trace, if you will, provide things for other people, at least in some aspects in some areas, that part still exists.
